QA/QC Engineer

Position overview

The QA/QC Engineer is responsible for ensuring that construction and fit-out activities comply with approved quality standards, project specifications, drawings, and applicable regulations. The role involves conducting inspections, monitoring workmanship and materials, identifying quality issues, and coordinating corrective actions to ensure successful project delivery and minimize defects and rework.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain project quality plans, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and quality control procedures.
• Ensure construction activities comply with approved drawings, technical specifications, contractual requirements, and applicable standards.
• Review material submittals, shop drawings, and method statements to ensure compliance with project quality requirements.
• Inspect materials, equipment, and workmanship to verify compliance with approved specifications before and during installation.
• Conduct regular site inspections and quality checks for civil, architectural, and MEP works.
• Perform, witness, and document inspections and tests, coordinating with project teams and third-party laboratories when required.
• Identify non-conforming works, prepare Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
• Monitor the implementation of corrective actions and ensure identified quality issues are properly resolved.
• Maintain QA/QC documentation, including inspection reports, test results, material approvals, and quality records.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports and provide updates on quality performance.
• Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, consultants, and client representatives on quality-related matters.
• Participate in site coordination meetings, quality audits, and project progress meetings.
• Identify opportunities to improve quality processes and minimize defects and rework.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Engineering, Architecture, Quality Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of QA/QC experience in construction / fit out projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction standards, quality control procedures, and technical documentation.
• Proficiency in MS Office and ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• ISO 9001 Internal Auditor certification is an advantage.
• Fluency in Azerbaijani; knowledge of English and Russian is an advantage.
