Backend Software Developer

Responsibilities

• Design and develop the backend of an enterprise workforce management platform using Python and FastAPI.
• Implement REST APIs, business logic, approval workflows, authentication, authorization, and audit logging.
• Design PostgreSQL data structures, database migrations, and efficient queries.
• Implement integration with Active Directory and OIDC-based identity providers.
• Develop scheduled background processes, notifications, data validation, and analytical data exports.
• Maintain clean module boundaries within a modular monolith architecture.
• Develop automated tests and support deployment through GitLab CI/CD and Kubernetes.
• Use modern neural-network-based coding assistants to accelerate implementation, refactoring, testing, and debugging.
• Review and validate AI-generated code for correctness, security, maintainability, and performance.
• Collaborate closely with the Flutter developer, business analyst, QA engineers, and DevOps engineer.

Required Qualifications

• At least 3 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in C# and .NET, including object-oriented design, asynchronous programming, and backend development.
• Practical ability to develop production-quality applications in Python, preferably using FastAPI.
• Demonstrated experience with AI-assisted software development using modern large language models and neural coding tools, such as Claude Code, ChatGPT, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent.
• Ability to use AI tools efficiently for code generation, architecture exploration, debugging, refactoring, and automated test development.
• Ability to independently review, troubleshoot, and improve AI-generated Python code.
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs, HTTP, JSON, and authentication principles.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, SQLAlchemy or equivalent ORM frameworks, and database migrations.
• Familiarity with Git, Docker, automated testing, and CI/CD.
• Understanding of application security, data integrity, concurrency, and transaction management.
• Fluent Azerbaijani and Russian.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, Alembic, and Pydantic.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, GitLab CI/CD, and Keycloak.
• Experience integrating LDAP, Active Directory, or OpenID Connect.
• Experience with background jobs, idempotent operations, and event processing.
• Familiarity with S3, Apache Iceberg, Trino, or enterprise data pipelines.
• Experience developing enterprise applications with complex role-based access and approval workflows.

Practical Evaluation

• Candidates must be prepared to demonstrate their ability to develop a functional Python/FastAPI service using AI coding assistants, explain the generated implementation, identify defects, and improve the resulting code.
